Defence & Security (From Chaos to Kingmaker)

Massive Upgrade: The army went from a fractured post-conflict group to the professional UPDF.

Education (More Brains, Better Skills)

Literacy Boost: The national literacy rate soared from 43% to 76.5%.
Free School: Launched UPE and USE (Universal Primary and Secondary Education) programs, massively increasing school enrolment.
Skill Up! Established 19 Regional Industrial Hubs and Presidential skilling centres that have trained 40,000+ youth in hands-on trades like welding and tailoring, focusing on employability.

Wealth Creation Programs (Money in the Wallet)
PDM: Launched the Parish Development Model (PDM) to push every household from subsistence farming into the money economy. Start-up Cash: Uganda Development Bank (UDB) has disbursed over UGX 2.45 trillion to 607 businesses, creating jobs. Targeted Funds: Programs like Emyooga and the Women Enterprise Fund make credit accessible to specific groups, including youth and women.
Economy & Industrialisation (The Comeback)

Big Money Jump: Per Capita Income exploded from USD 272 to USD 1324 (nominal).
Inflation Killed: Hyperinflation of 256% in 1986 was cut to a stable 3.8%.
Reserves Stacked: Foreign Exchange Reserves grew from a low USD 16 million to over USD 4.069 Billion.
Made in Uganda: Focus shifted to industrial parks and value addition, meaning more processing and less exporting raw materials.

Pan-Africanism & Regional Peace (Neighbourly Goals)
EAC Leader: A key player in driving the East African Community (EAC) integration for shared markets and prosperity.

Security for All: Strategic deployments ensure that threats in neighbouring countries don’t spill over into Uganda.

Conservation: Strong policies have supported the recovery of wildlife and protected vital water sources.
Tourism Growth: The stable security environment and infrastructure development have supported a growing, vibrant tourism sector.

Road Revolution: Massive expansion of the national road network, including iconic projects like the Entebbe Express Highway.
Key Agencies: Established specialised bodies like UNRA (Uganda National Roads Authority) to professionally manage road development.

Agriculture (Farming 2.0)

Coffee Boom: Coffee production is soaring, growing from 3 million bags to about 7 million bags today.
Modern Tools: Support for mechanisation and research through institutions like NARO is turning farming into a business, not just a lifestyle.

Energy (Powering the Future)

More Power: Total installed generation capacity hit 2,051.6 MW.
Widespread Access: Electricity access grew from under 5% to over 60% nationwide.
Load-Shedding Gone: Major projects like Karuma and Isimba have drastically reduced load-shedding.
Oil is Coming: Uganda is on track to produce its first oil by 2025.

ICT & Digital Transformation (The Tech Leap)

Internet Everywhere: Internet penetration is over 60%.
Digital Backbone: Rolled out over 4,400 km of fibre optic cable (NBI) to carry fast internet across all regions.
E-Government: Over 100 government services are now digitised  for speed and transparency.
Local Tech: Local innovators are building: Kiira Motors produced electric/solar buses.

Gender, Labour & Social Development (Inclusion & Equality)

Women in Power: Affirmative action in the Constitution guarantees women’s leadership. Women hold over 35% of seats in Parliament.
Financial Inclusion: Targeted funds like UWEP, PDM, and Emyooga prioritise credit and training for women and youth entrepreneurs.
Worker Protection: Modern laws protect workers’ rights, workplace safety, and address issues like domestic violence and human trafficking.
